What the F.A.V.E. Score™ Means

The FAVE Score™ is our proprietary rating system used to evaluate the experiences featured in Reject Average.

After more than five hundred adventures across six continents, the same three questions kept coming up:

• Should I do it?

• Will I like it?

• Was it worth it?

It began as a personal challenge from our founder, Brant Pinvidic, who wanted a better way to explain why certain experiences feel unforgettable while others quietly disappoint, before you spend the time, money, and energy to find out.

Over time, that simple framework evolved into something more tangible.

Today, nearly every adventure, resort, and destination featured in Reject Average is measured using the same standard: The FAVE Score™.

Think of it as our version of a Michelin Star for experiences, a way to identify the moments around the world that are truly worth collecting.

How We Measure Experiences Worth Collecting

Every experience is evaluated across four factors:

FUN

The joy factor.Did it make you light up, laugh, and feel fully present?

ADVENTURE

The edge. How bold, unique, intense, or story-worthy the experience really is.

VALUE

The adventure ROI.Not just cost but the feeling of what you received for what you spent.

EASE

The friction.Logistics, time commitment, difficulty, discomfort, travel grind, and planning load.

Together, these four factors create the FAVE Score™, giving a clearer picture of what an experience actually delivers.

How the Scores Work

9+ — MUST DO

These are the crown jewels of the Experience Collection.The kinds of adventures you plan an entire trip around.

8–9 — WORTH THE TRIP

Excellent experiences that are absolutely worth building into your itinerary.

7–8 — FUN BUT FORGETTABLE

You’ll enjoy these, but they may not make your highlight reel.

Below 7 — SKIP IT

There’s too much world out there to waste time on average.

The Beauty of the FAVE Score™

The FAVE Score™ isn’t about perfection or chasing a number. It’s about understanding trade-offs.

Some experiences are wildly fun but require serious effort to reach.Others are easy and beautiful but come with a higher price tag.Some are affordable and accessible but only truly shine with the right guide or the right group.

By breaking every experience down into Fun, Adventure, Value, and Ease, the FAVE Score™ gives you context. It shows you the ratio.

An adventure that scores high on Fun but low on Ease might still be completely worth it you just want to know what you're signing up for.

Likewise, something that’s easy and affordable but only moderately exciting might be perfect depending on your time, energy, or who you're traveling with.

The score isn’t a verdict.

It’s information.
