Czech Republic: Country Number Ten

Country number ten on our global adventure, 52 countries in 52 weeks, was the Czech Republic. We really lucked out here in Prague and found an incredible penthouse apartment right downtown. It came with the best rooftop patio and a private view terrace that gave us a front-row seat to the beauty of the city. It was one of those stays that immediately felt special.

Exploring Prague

The kids and I kicked things off by visiting the largest arcade in the city, complete with indoor mini golf. From there, we spent a lot of time wandering Old Town and soaking in the incredible architecture. Prague is simply beautiful, every corner feels like stepping into a postcard.

A Taste of Local Culture

One of the most memorable experiences was through EatWith, a platform where you can dine in local homes. We were welcomed by Gabby and her family, who cooked us a truly authentic Czech meal. The food was delicious, but the best part was the warm conversation and insight into Czech culture. It was an unforgettable evening and something I highly recommend to travelers anywhere in the world.

A Night to Remember

I also met up with a close friend who lives in Prague, and he took me on a wild night out. We went to a secret private members’ club where one of the most popular Czech bands was performing. The venue was filled with one of the largest private collections of music memorabilia in Europe, it felt like stepping into a rock and roll museum with a live soundtrack. Truly unforgettable.

History and Spectacle

Of course, no visit to Prague is complete without seeing Prague Castle, and it was every bit as spectacular as its reputation. But the real highlight for us was a dinner and show at the oldest pub in Prague, known as the Medieval Tavern. Built in the 1200s, it offered an experience straight out of history, underground dining with authentic food, dancers, sword fights, snakes, and even a fire-breathing performance so close you could feel the heat. The kids were absolutely blown away, and so were we.

Reflections on Czechia

Prague delivered everything we hoped for and more: history, culture, nightlife, and unforgettable experiences. From rooftop views to fire-breathing shows, this stop on our adventure will always stand out. Now, we’re off to country number eleven—Germany!
