Country number six on our 52 countries in 52 weeks adventure was Denmark, and it did not disappoint. We stayed in an absolutely adorable Airbnb right on a lake, which made for a perfect home base to start exploring.
Canal Tour and Copenhagen Highlights
We began Denmark with a classic canal tour through Copenhagen, taking in the colorful cityscape, historic architecture, and vibrant waterfront life. It was a relaxed introduction to the city and a great way to see the sights from the water.

A Summer House Stay with Danish Friends
The real adventure began when we reconnected with a Danish family we met back in Iceland while riding horses with Mr. Iceland. They generously invited us to stay at their summer house just outside Copenhagen. A few hours’ drive and a ferry later, we were in a charming seaside town, enjoying the warm hospitality of our new friends. They treated us to a traditional Danish lunch, took us mountain biking, and even for a swim in the Nordic Sea. Our evenings were filled with spectacular homemade dinners, making this one of the true highlights of our trip so far.

Camp Adventure and the Forest Tower
Back in Copenhagen, we visited Camp Adventure, the ropes course that made us feel like Norway’s ropes park had some competition. With its massive course and an incredible 300-foot forest tower winding straight up, it was an exhilarating experience from start to finish.

Lakeside Leisure
Of course, we also spent plenty of time relaxing at our lake Airbnb, where I even made friends with some local swans. Denmark offered the perfect blend of adventure, nature, and cultural immersion, leaving us excited for our next stop, Sweden.
