We continue our 52 countries in 52 weeks world tour with country number eleven, Germany. For this stop, we chose Munich and once again we scored big with another beautiful penthouse right in the city center. The deck gave us a perfect view of St. Paul’s Cathedral, and every hour the bells reminded us where we were.
Exploring Munich
The weather wasn’t exactly on our side, but we still found plenty of fun. My son and I played pool in an authentic German pool hall, and Brianna and I discovered the cutest brunch spot in the city. We also spent time at Munich’s incredible science museum, which really showcased why German engineering has such a reputation it was fascinating.

Rainy Day Adventures
When the weather turned rough, we went underground for some epic mini golf and later tried out an Argentinian grill that was absolutely fantastic. We even made time for some bowling when the rain persisted. Munich proved that even on gray days there’s always something to do.
River Surfing and Old Town
One of the true highlights was watching the surfers at the famous river surf park. It was wild and entertaining to see wave after wave tackled with so much energy. Of course, we also spent time exploring Old Town Munich and the iconic square, which did not disappoint. For a fun twist, we even tried the German version of the McRib, not too bad at all.

Reflections on Germany
Our Munich adventure was a mix of rooftop views, rainy day discoveries, great food, and the unforgettable sight of surfers in the middle of the city. Germany delivered a unique and memorable experience. Next stop: country number twelve, the Netherlands.
