Country Number Fourteen
Country number fourteen on our Great Global Adventure, 52 countries in 52 weeks, was Portugal, and we were ready for some sun, sand, and beachside relaxation. After weeks in cooler climates, Albufeira on the Algarve coast was the perfect place to recharge.
Albufeira and Alfagar Village Resort
We stayed at the Alfagar Village Resort, an all-inclusive spot right on the beach with breathtaking ocean views. It was the kind of place where you could spend the whole day lounging by the pool, walking along the sand, or just soaking in the sea breeze. We loved the slower pace,it was the perfect break to relax and recharge.
Exploring the Town and Local Life
Beyond the resort, we wandered the streets of Albufeira, meeting up with some friends I had worked with years ago and enjoying a wonderful lunch together. We explored the town, did a little mini golf, and discovered an amazing sushi spot, yes, sushi in Portugal! The town was bustling, charming, and full of life.
Reflections on Portugal
Portugal gave us the ideal mix of relaxation, fun, and local culture. From the sunny beaches to the lively town streets, it was a highlight of our journey. After enjoying every moment, we packed up and set our sights on country number fifteen: Spain.
