Ride with a Viking in Iceland

One of the most memorable parts of our Iceland adventure was horseback riding with Mr Iceland on his historic farm at Efri-Úlfsstaðir. These Icelandic horses are gentle yet strong, deeply tied to Iceland’s culture and Viking heritage, and riding them feels like stepping back in time.

We joined a small group tour that took us across ancient trails, past rivers, volcanoes, and glaciers. Every ride was tailored to our level, making it both safe and exhilarating. After our ride, we shared a traditional Viking-style feast with the farm’s family, enjoying fresh Icelandic lamb and seasonal vegetables around a long table while swapping stories and soaking in the atmosphere.

For a deeper connection with Icelandic nature and culture, Mr Iceland also offers overnight stays in cozy cabins right on the horse pastures. Waking up to grazing horses and sweeping landscapes is something you’ll never forget.
