Getting Started in London
Week one of our 52 countries in 52 weeks world tour began in London, England. It was the perfect city to start in because it gave us time to get settled, figure out our routines, and ease into life on the road. We rented a charming little Airbnb, and once I had my office set up and the Wi-Fi working, we were ready to explore everything London had to offer.

Exploring the City
We spent our first days moving around the city the way locals do, by learning to use the Tube. It quickly became our main way of getting around, and it gave us the chance to feel connected to the flow of daily life in London. From there we set out to explore some of the city’s most famous museums. London is home to some of the best in the world, and each one reminded us of the depth of history and culture that makes this city so special.
Tea with a View
No trip to London feels complete without experiencing afternoon tea, and we made sure to enjoy it in two unforgettable settings. The first was along the River Thames, where we had tea while looking out at Big Ben and the London Eye. The second was high tea at City Gardens, where the panoramic view of the skyline created a moment that combined elegance, tradition, and modern London energy.

Day Trips into History
We also took time to venture outside the city for some unforgettable day trips. At Windsor Castle we watched the guards in their iconic uniforms, which was every bit as impressive as expected. From there we went to Stonehenge, a site that remains one of the great mysteries of the world, and then traveled to Bath to see the Roman Baths. Standing in places with such remarkable history was a powerful reminder of how many stories the world holds.

Food, Friends, and Work
Even on the road there is still work to do, so I spent some time in meetings and catching up on projects. But London also gave us some amazing food experiences. We had what I can honestly say was the best Indian food in the world, and it set the standard high for meals on this trip. I also had the chance to meet up with one of my closest friends who was in town, which made for a perfect dinner and a great night out. And of course, we filmed our very first McDonald’s review abroad, which added a fun and lighthearted touch to the week.

Wrapping Up Week One
London turned out to be the perfect place to launch this global journey. The city gave us history, culture, food, friendship, and a few lessons in balancing work with travel. It was a great start, and we had a blast experiencing it all. With week one in England complete, we packed up and moved on to week two, ready for our next adventure in Scotland.
